Barbecue with the Granillos

We had a great time with Chris and Brenda yesterday.  We've been trying to get together for a while and it just hasn't worked out. Until now!

The kids were a little shy at first, but once they see dogs and pools, you're their new best friend!

Most impressive innertubes!  The kids floated all over in these:

(I know, love the fountain!  The kids thought it was funny when the ball got stuck spinning underneath.  Chris had Trevy convinced that there was a hamster in there.)

 We didn't have Timmy go in this time.  Too deep for comfort.

 But he loved dipping his toes in with Mom!

It was hot, but the clouds moved in and the rain cames just after we left!

 James played shark with the girls.  Callie loves getting attacked.

Trevy, on the other hand, decided to play hard-to-get and pulled her feet out of the water.  Smarty pants!

Just kidding, but we did have one incident.

The kids moved into the jacuzzi part and were being careful to walk around the edge.

But then Callie forgot and decided to walk across the middle.  I saw her and immediately turned to tell James that Callie was under and she was out in a matter of seconds.  Scared her pretty good.  It's amazing how fast it happens.  The scariest part is that it's all quiet.  One minute your child is above water and the next you just see these little scared eyes staring up at you from under water.  There's no big splash or thrashing around.  I think it paralyzes kids, they have no idea what to do and they have nothing to hold onto.  Sure hope next year's swim lessons are more productive with more participators!

We had a scrumptious lunch of barbecued chicken, burgers, hot dogs, salad, fruit, chips, lemonade, cake, lemon bars...  Seriously, you would have thought it was Thanksgiving, without the turkey!

The camera stopped working for a bit - even changed the batteries - so I didn't get any pictures of Landon and Callie playing with Petie and going through the doggie door with him. 

I did, however, get a cute one of Timmy with Chris.

(As a bonus, Callie fell asleep on the way home.  She probably fell asleep around 6:45 and didn't wake up until 7 this morning!  I think Petie wore Landon out too.  Not sure why Timmy wasn't more tired.  He didn't get much of a nap yesterday and woke up this morning at 7:30!)
