Timmy had his final visit with Dr. Ammoury, his gastroenterologist, on Monday. She was thrilled with how well he is doing and could no longer feel his spleen. She could see no reason to schedule another appointment so Timmy has received his second official discharge. Hooray!
Timmy saw Dr. Peterson, our pediatrician, on Tuesday and she was happy with Timmy's progress as well. He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces on both scales, oddly enough, and was 20.5 inches on Monday and 20.75 on Tuesday. (No, I do not believe he grew a quarter of an inch overnight. Merely illustrating that, with two offices getting roughly the same measurements, there must be some accuracy there.)
Still not on any growth curves yet, but Timmy's weight gain has increased such that they are no longer asking us to try giving him fortified bottles anymore. (Not that he ever did very well with them anyway.) His head circumference has also increased at a good rate too, showing that his brain is growing and his head is making room for it. *Insert sigh of relief here.*
He did receive his 6-month immunization yesterday as well. He was not a great fan, but tolerated them well on Tuesday. Yesterday, however, he was rather inconsolable and didn't want to be put down. Poor thing.
It's been a crazy week. James headed back up to Bagdad yesterday to help at the ranch. Melissa has been over every night this week helping get kids to bed. I think we're wearing her out, though. She and I took the kids to Fry's tonight for trick-or-treating and to hit their 6-hour sale on the honeycrisp apples Callie couldn't resist on Monday (she went with Timmy and me to Dr. Ammoury's and we stopped at the grocery store on the way home. At one point, I turned around and saw her with a huge apple in her hands. Excellent taste in produce, I must say, but I wasn't too impressed with the teeth marks in the apple. Or the tomato, for that matter...). Hers cost me $2.99/pound (whatever it was for one), and they were on sale tonight for 0.67/pound from 3-9pm only. I think we got some good apples. Kind of felt jipped on the treats for the kids, though. They were so excited to dress up but they didn't get very much. Only about five Tootsie Rolls each.
That didn't bother Landon. He bit into his first Tootsie Roll right through the wrapper!
Cute holiday display and backdrop.
Timmy as the bride of Frankenstein.
Kind of looks like Landon and Callie are hiding out in the liquor aisle. Promise they weren't!
Our fabulous neighbor - who knows why she agrees to accompany me on these crazy outtings - as Frankenstein.
Trevy as Frankenstein.
The Tootsie Roll munching, with wrapper intact.
The huge honeycrisp apples, with caramel dip. YUM!!! Very much worth the trip in!
Standing in line for cookie decorating.
Getting cookies from the bakery witch.
And decorating the cookies.
Well...sampling the frosting, at least.
Gotta love Cinderella eating the frosting off her cookie.
The dark line is the string from the balloons the kids got in the produce section.
A girl after my own heart... There's some mean sneaky person out there who concocted the idea of putting the ice cream on sale on the end of the freezer aisle right in the middle of the store so you have to walk past it! And usually stop in front of it. Blast! (We did make it out without any this time!)
My two princesses. Love Trevy's hair in this shot.
There are reasons why you should not shop alone with four kids under the age of five.
I don't think anyone needs any explaining.
I don't think anyone needs any explaining.
Cutest Cinderella ever!
Suctioning is always such fun.
They did have a soda stand at the back of the store. And, fortunately, someone with a mop nearby.
Almost lost the slipper...again.
Then there was the Oreo stand. Cannot believe I forgot to attempt the Oreo stacking challenge! Maybe we could have won more treats! (Not that we need them, it's just fun to say you're a champion Oreo stacker.)
The kids all wanted more soda. We were able to convince them to just refill their cups in the drinking fountain.
And then they wanted to touch all the Christmas stuff on display on the way out.
(Yes, Christmas is now on display even before Halloween! This is craziness!)
Landon is my helper when it comes to carts. He loves to push and pull anything on wheels.
This guy was actually a store worker. Just wanted to say hi,
but I think he scared Landon more than anything.
Can't forget the cute face hidden in the carrier.
Or the huge stuffies on the way out. Callie LOVES dogs. So hard to tell her she wasn't getting this one.
She tried.
A gentleman in a riding cart stopped to comment on how cute the kids are.
Yes they are and yes, they are all mine.
Finally ready to check out!
Off to home, movie night with Melissa with apples and caramel dip.
