Anistyn's First Birthday!!!

Last Saturday, St. Patrick's Day (if you have any doubt from the pictures) was my sister, Lisa's, daughter, Anistyn's, first birthday party.

The party was scheduled to start at 11:30am at their new home in Chandler.  I will have everyone know that the kids and I arrived at 11:35am and were the second car there, behind my parents, who had just pulled in.  In true Taylor fashion, the party didn't get started until well after noon, but it was well worth the wait!

Lisa and Travis's new home is so nice!  She had cute St. Patrick's Day decorations all over and the floor plan of the house made it possible for the kids to eat off the carpet and still be close without being underfoot.

Our kids had a great time taking over Anistyn's toys while she was napping.
(Can you guess what Timmy is getting for his birthday?  Not in pink, of course.)

They also loved going outside to ride the toys on the back porch.  So much so that, at one point, Landon was in such a hurry to get outside that he literally ran smack into the sliding glass door.  Poor thing!  Guess he got his nose pretty good.  No blood, but he definitely needed a few mommy kisses.  (Darn people and their obsession with Windex.  =)  )

The birthday girl all decked out with Aunt Amy.

We started with a small luncheon - beautiful spread, huh?  Nice job, Lis!  She made some tortilla rolls, little smokies and some seasoned potatoes.  I got to donate the four-leaf clover cheeseball and Lisa also had some crackers, veggies and a green frappe.

We needed some models - Thanks, Amy and Seth!

Anistyn's super-cute birthday cupcakes!  Believe it or not, the cupcake flavors corresponded with their frosting colors!

Anistyn's personal pot of gold cake.

She could hardly wait to rip something coated in sugar.

But her mean mommy made her wait.  =)

Not long.  The cake destruction is the highlight of any first birthday party.  Anistyn didn't let us down.  I do believe the girl loves chocolate!

Very lady-like.

Now for the fun part!

(I loved this!  She started clapping her hands with cake all over them!!!)

All that was left.

Well done, birthday girl!

Aunt Amy got the crumbs before they made it to the carpet.  Look at those skills!  Can you tell she has experience?

Fresh from her bath.

Look at those cute toes!  She even had green toenail polish!

Present Time!

Not only did the kids want to bring Anistyn the next present, they were more than happy to help her open it!

About this picture - these are three of Amy's kids.  I soooo wish that Seth were in focus because I think this would be one of the most darling pictures ever!

Back to the presents.  Anistyn is a quick learner.  She caught on to the idea of rip-off-paper, take-out-toy pretty quick.  This one was a little tricky because there was packing tape on it.

Anistyn got a number of dolls, some play food, a set of blocks from us and a shopping cart from Grandma and Grandpa Taylor.  (Had to split this one because Grandma needed to walk in front of me.  But I couldn't leave out Timmy playing the bongos on the present.)

Callie loves Aunt Sheesha's house because she and Aunt Sheesha both love elephants.  She made herself right at home on top of some of Anistyn's and grabbed hold of the cell phone.  Heaven help us in about 12 years!

As family, we were the last ones to leave, which also meant we got the extra goodies.  The kids each had way too much frosting...

...received a pot of gold-foiled chocolate candies...

...and the helium balloon decorations.  Timmy was in heaven!  He LOVES helium balloons!  They keep him entertained for hours on end!

Believe me, though, it was no simple task driving home with four floating balloons in my car and trying to keep them all in a position where everyone could still see the screen to watch their movie.  It was quite dusty and windy on the way home so I was honestly fine with all the road construction between Tucson and Chandler keeping the speed limit down to 65 most of the way.

A fun day had by all!  Happy First Birthday, Anistyn!

too cute, anistyn all decked out like that. love the cake idea, so fun. our kids love little tyke cars as well. good choice for a gift. we were lucky enough to have 2 of them given to us and we still don't have enough to go around to all the kids that want to use them.
